The BID's crime prevention team joined police, Parkguard officers and Islington Council emergency planning representatives on a joint walkabout on November 21 as part of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Awareness Week. The group patrolled the area from Highbury and Islington Station to the Angel, speaking to businesses and residents, including Jimmy Fairly, Cubitts and Mango, and sharing information about the civil injunctions programme - designed to address anti-social behaviour at the earliest opportunity. This was the first ASB joint patrol under the newly established Community Safety, Security, and Resilience department of the Council.

Gerry Morgan, the BID's Business Crime Manager, said: "It was a very positive day with plenty of feedback from residents and businesses. We also dealt with a couple of cases on the way including prolific shoplifters and a man wanted for breach of licence conditions who was on recall to prison."

ASB Awareness Week this year took place on November 18-24, and next year is set for June 30-July 6, 2025. If you would like any advice on tackling business crime relating to ASB, or have other crime prevention issues you would like to discuss, contact Gerry at Gerry@angelislington.london.
