Business Crime Prevention update - November
Our Business Crime Team in partnership with Parkguard continues to address crime issues in the Angel area. Recent activity has included:
- Four people wanted by police for outstanding theft and other offences were detained by Parkguard and subsequently arrested by police.
- 12 people received verbal warnings regarding their conduct in the area.
- Seven people were directed to leave the area following disruptive behaviour.
- Three Anti-Social Behaviour Warning forms were issued as part of the Early Intervention Scheme.
- One person was referred to outreach services for support with homelessness, and drug/alcohol addiction.
- 45 pieces of intelligence were gathered, contributing to ongoing investigations into unsolved crimes.
The BID's crime team is starting to work closely with Council officers from the Anti- Social Behaviour Case Management Team to secure injunctions against prolific shoplifters active in the area. The goal is to establish conditions that will prevent these offenders from entering the area entirely, providing stronger preventative measures to protect local businesses and enhance community safety.
