Patrols have been stepped up at faith and community locations across Islington following the public disorder in parts of the country over the last week.

In a statement, Islington Council acknowledged the tensions, anxiety and concerns across communities, and reiterated it was united against hate and would not tolerate violence against marginalised communities.

Patrols have been increased at faith and community locations, and the local authority urges people to report incidences of hate crimes.

These can be reported to police by calling 999 in an emergency when the offender is still in the area, someone has been injured or there is a risk to life, or calling 101 to make a non-emergency report to local police.

You can also report anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
