This year the BID offices will be closed from Friday, December 20, to Thursday, January 2, 2025. You may wish to make a note of services available during this time.

Recycling services will be available on December 27, 30 and 31. Requests for bags and labels are by email only to Tracy@angelislington.london and must be made by Friday, December 20, to ensure deliveries are made by Christmas Eve. We are also pleased to confirm that we will be offering our FREE Christmas tree collection and recycling service for BID levy payers again from Thursday, January 2. Simply email Tracy@angelislington.london with details of your business and the number of trees you have for collection. Trees must be placed at ground floor level on the day of collection.  Islington Council will be offering commercial waste collection services as follows: For sack collections December 24 – normal service December 25 – no service December 26 - catch-up service for Christmas Day and Boxing Day December 27-30 – normal service December 31 + January 1 - reduced service (evenings only) January 2 – normal service For commercial bin collections December 24 – normal service December 25 – no service December 26 - reduced service for Christmas Day + Boxing Day December 27-31 – the service will run a day behind your regular collection day with an extra catch-up service on December 28 January 1 – no service January 2 – the service will run a day behind your regular collection day with an extra catch-up service on January 4 If you use a waste contractor other than Islington Council, please check their schedules over the Christmas period to ensure you do not receive a fine if your waste is not collected. Our Business Crime Team will be working in Angel town centre up to, and including, Monday, December 23, and will return on Friday, December 27, to Tuesday, December 31. Normal patrols will then resume from Thursday, January 2. Please remember to follow these procedures if you need the assistance of the police: Call 999

  • If a crime is in progress and you need help right away. If there's danger to people or property.
  • If you have detained somebody.

Otherwise, call 101 or report on-line at www.met.police.uk. When reporting a crime, make sure you tell the call handler:

  • If anyone has been verbally threatened, attacked, injured or victim of hate crime.
  • If the offender is still at the scene or in the area.
  • If anything has been stolen and if any of it has been recovered.
  • If there is a safeguarding issue in that the offenders are young, elderly, may have disabilities, or could be affected by drug or alcohol use.
