New pub The Peacock opening soon

You'll be a fan of The Peacock, which opens on September 3 on the site of The Junction pub at 3-5 Islington High Street.

The rename pays homage to the site's history, where a pub called The Peacock Inn, mentioned in Charles Dickens' Nicholas Nickleby and Thomas Hughes' Tom Brown's School Days, stood from 1564 to 1962.

Owner Urban Pubs & Bars promises premium dining, weekend brunch and Sunday roasts.
