BID member employees enjoyed an exclusive peek at the Japanese Gallery’s latest exhibition for Angel Loves Summer.

David Wertheim, from the Camden Passage shop and gallery, took visitors on a tour of Print to Pattern: Unveiling the Kimono through Japanese Prints, which showcased the extraordinary history and tradition of this iconic garment.

Guests also had the rare opportunity to handle an authentic antique Japanese design book filled with kimono designs that were highlighted in the exhibition. They also enjoyed traditional Japanese snacks and drinks including Sake, Japanese beer and wine, and were given keepsakes of a pin badge and bookmark to remember the evening.

Isabel from the Japanese Gallery said: “The evening was a success, everything went smoothly, and all the attendees thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We are delighted to have hosted the event to add to the BID's Angel Loves Summer programme - which also served as a nice, relaxed atmosphere of networking amongst the attendees too.”

The private view was just one of several Angel Loves Summer events and offers that run annually during July and August. Funded by Angel Islington BID, the activities are free for BID member staff to enjoy as a thank you for supporting the BID. It is also a chance for BID businesses to reach new audiences through the events they host.
