London Fire Brigade (LFB) is reminding businesses it will no longer attend automatic fire alarms (AFA) in commercial properties between 7am and 8.30pm from October 1 – unless a call is also received from a person reporting a fire.

LFB will continue to always respond to all AFAs in residential buildings and schools, nurseries, hospitals, care homes, heritage sites, and other exempt premises, and will continue to attend when called to a fire by a member of the public and to AFAs between 8.30pm to 7am.

Businesses are reminded to understand their fire safety responsibilities and the action required.
